Membership of the Victorian Showmen’s Guild is open to all travelling Showmen and women who make their living as a Showman and can demonstrate this for at least the 3 years prior to applying.

The applicant must be nominated and seconded by two Guild members and gain a two-thirds majority of votes at the Annual General Meeting of Members

Every application for membership must be made to the Secretary in writing at the office of the Guild and shall contain the correct name and address of the applicant and shall be signed by the applicant in a form approved from time to time by the Committee. 

The Secretary shall submit all applications to a meeting of the Committee which may accept or reject the application. The applicant shall be informed of the result of his application by notice in writing signed by the Secretary. If admitted to the Guild, members must observe the Rules, Code of Conduct and By-Laws of the Guild. Copies of both these documents can be downloaded below. 

CODE OF CONDUCT

The Victorian Showmen’s Guild Code of Conduct sets out the sets out the standards of conduct for people and companies engaged in the provision of side show entertainment as “Showmen”.  Acceptance and observance of the Code is a condition of membership of the Guild. Download a copy here 

RULES
