The Victorian Showmen’s Guild has been working closely with the Minister for Transport and the Department concerning registrations for special purpose amusement vehicles in Victoria.
Our industry vehicles travel low kilometres, low impact, and generally travel off-peaks, from Show to Show from week to week, and at major capital shows many vehicles would be on-site for many weeks at a time.
The Hon Ben Carroll MP supports our request and agreed to advocate on behalf of the Guild and its Members, along with the Hon. Bill Shorten MP who has worked tirelessly to support our organisation and industry.
The Department of Transport is currently reviewing the submission and preparing a brief for the Minister concerning this matter.
We anticipate an update in the coming month and hope that this classification of registration becomes a key member benefit in 2021 and well into the future.
To be eligible to receive the special purpose amusement registration you will need to be a financial cardholding Member of the Victorian Showmen’s Guild and have a special purpose amusement vehicle; prime mover, truck, and /or trailer registered in your name
Further updates and information coming soon.
